Gordy Gritters originally developed this technique to accurize rifles competing in the factory class in 1000-yard matches and Varmint Hunter Jamboree matches. But it was so effective that he soon began using it for all types of competition and hunting rifles that need top accuracy. This modification is not visible with the rifle assembled but makes factory actions much more accurate and with close tolerances like top custom actions.
